Inspiration for Spring Wedding Bouquets

Are you're planning to exchange vows in March, April, May, or early June? If yes, then you are choosing one of the most beautiful times of year for your wedding flowers. Clever you! Spring is really prime-time bloom season. As the weather warms up some of the prettiest flowers come into season, including peonies, tulips, ranunculus, and iris.

There is such a wide variety of colours to choose from, making the palette as varied as the season's weather. Pastels are incredibly popular in the spring, but you can embrace colour, as everyone is so excited to say goodbye to the dark winter months. Purples, yellows, pinks, and greens are all good options, but don't be afraid to work with reds, oranges, and even blues, too.

Today I have picked a few of my favourite Spring Wedding bouquets from last year, all from real life weddings I have been lucky enough to be a part of. Each of these bundles of blooms were chosen for their springy flair and will show all that Spring has to offer in the way of gorgeous flowers and colours.

I really hope that you feel inspired, let me know which one is your favourite.

Irises and daffodils are a classic symbol of Spring, used here in an atypical way with the added daisies.

Emma married David at Llanerch Vineyard last March and wanted to carry a simple, seasonal bouquet but with added daisies. I created this beautiful posy of white Iris, scented paperwhite narcissi, Tanacetum daisies and Leucanthemum daisies. The delicate nature of this bouquet suited the relaxed style of this wedding perfectly and was perfect for a Spring celebration.

Why not incorporate bold colours into your bouquet for a modern and unexpected twist.

A bouquet like this is a more unusual choice of colour for Spring, this was just a wonderful wedding, a beautiful day at Pencoed House. Rachael wanted a colourful bouquet of shades of lilac, purples and blues. She really wanted to incorporate Balthazar chrysanthemum and eryngium. To compliment these all year round flowers I used seasonal blue iris, myosotis (forget me not), matthiola and clematis. It was a stunner of a bouquet and suited Rachael, with that bold red lip, wow!

Seasonal bouquets are timeless and versatile. Opt for a timeless bouquet accented with pops of colour from spring flowers like ranunculus, hyacinth, bluebells and iris.

If you asked me to pick my own design for a Spring wedding bouquet, this would be it. I created this for the lovely Nia who married at Canada Lodge. It is full of all the Spring flowers, lemon and yellow ranunculus, white iris, blue myosotis, white and blue muscari, bluebells and a few tanacetum daisies. Isn’t she the cutest Spring bouquet ever!

A classic peony bouquet in shades of pink and white with the surprise touch of blue.

This beautiful wedding took place at Canada Lodge. Gosh, I loved working with these two. Zoe even cried when I delivered her bouquet. The month of May equals peonies and of course most couples love these gorgeous blooms!! White O’hara roses, blue oxypetalum, hydrangea, matthiola and a little foliage completed this bouquet. It smelt divine.

Spring is peony season, and these lush blooms are a favorite for bridal bouquets. You can opt for a classic all-peony bouquet in shades of pink, white, or coral, or mix them with other flowers for added texture as I have here.

I love this image by Lloyd Jones Photography. Tayler carried this beautiful bouquet in Spring whites and blue. Blue nigella, also known as love in the mist, peonies, roses, olive and eucalyptus foliage. Another pretty one to help inspire you.

Embrace the soft, delicate colours of spring with pastel blooms such as this. This creates a dreamy, romantic bouquet.

Katie allowed me free reign when designing her wedding flowers, she just wanted a lot of pastel colours. This is my interpretation of a seasonal Spring bouquet, full of colour. I used syringa, bluebells, matthiola, clematis, oxypetalum, roses and so much more. Katie loved her flowers, she even messaged me the next day and left a review;

Aww Anne-Marie! Honestly thank you SO much for the most beautiful flowers. I was truly blown away with how stunning they all were and smelt absolutely incredible. All my family said they have never seen such beautiful flowers and have all taken some home

Wildflower Spring wedding bouquet

Incorporate a variety of wildflowers for a whimsical and natural look. Think daisies, lavender, daffodils, and poppies mixed with greenery like eucalyptus or buplerum for texture.

Now on paper you mightn’t think this bouquet would work but Oh my, what a beauty. It was my first time using these Icelandic poppies, they were tricky. Other flowers included are flexed tulips, daffodils, clematis, oxypetalum, delphinium, roses and daisies - now that’s a lot of varieties! But I was so happy with the result. I never actually met this bride face to face until I delivered the bouquet. Luckily Elin loved it. Fun fact, this bouquet is my most popular Instagram post.

What do you think? Are you feeling inspired or more confused? There are so many options open to you. Are you going bold with your colours or are pastels more your vibe? Don’t forget, I am here to help and guide you in your decision making if you need me.

Remember to consider your wedding theme, colour scheme, and personal style when choosing your bridal bouquet. Whether you prefer a classic, romantic look or something more eclectic and modern, there are endless possibilities to reflect the beauty of Spring in your bouquet.
